Terms of Service

These Terms are an agreement between you and Eikon ("Eikon", "we", "us") for your use of the Eikon plugin and related services. By installing or using Eikon, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use it.

1. You must be 18 or older

Eikon is for adults only. You confirm at sign-up that you are at least 18 years old, and by using Eikon you represent that this is true. If you are under 18, you may not use Eikon for any reason.

2. Your account

You sign in through Discord. You're responsible for your account and for keeping your passphrase safe. Your passphrase protects the keys that decrypt your messages, and we cannot reset it or recover your messages if you lose it. Don't share your account, and don't let anyone under 18 use it.

3. Community rules

Using Eikon means agreeing not to do any of the following, in profiles, photos, messages, or anywhere else on the service:

• No minors and no childlike content. Nothing involving anyone under 18, and nothing that sexualizes minors or childlike characters. Lalafell are kept strictly SFW. This rule has no exceptions.
• No nonconsensual or illegal content. No content shared without consent, no threats, no content that is illegal where you or the recipient are.
• Consent first. Get a clear yes before sending explicit content or steering into NSFW. No means no, the first time.
• No harassment or hate. No targeted harassment, stalking, slurs, or abuse.
• No impersonation or catfishing. Don't pretend to be someone you're not.
• No doxxing. Don't share or threaten to share anyone's private or real-world information.
• No spam or scams. No advertising, solicitation, phishing, or fraud.
• Keep it in the game. Eikon does not arrange in-person meetups and we don't host them. What you do off the platform is your own responsibility and risk.

4. Your content

Your profile, photos, and messages are yours, and you're responsible for them. By posting a profile or photos, you give us permission to host and display them to other users so the service can work. You keep that permission only as long as you choose to keep the content up, and removing it ends our permission going forward. Because your messages are end-to-end encrypted, we don't have a readable copy of them and we don't claim any rights over them.

You confirm you have the right to share whatever you upload, and that it follows these Terms.

5. Moderation and enforcement

Because messages are end-to-end encrypted, no one is reading them in the background. We rely on reports. When you report someone, you choose what evidence to include, and it's sealed to the moderation team so the rest of your messages stay private. We may review reports, remove content, and warn, suspend, or permanently remove accounts that break these Terms. Serious violations, especially anything involving minors, mean immediate removal, and we may report illegal activity to the appropriate authorities.

6. Privacy

How we handle your data is described in our Privacy Policy, which is part of these Terms.

7. Final Fantasy XIV and third parties

Eikon is a fan-made third-party Dalamud plugin. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Square Enix, and Final Fantasy XIV is a trademark of Square Enix Holdings Co., Ltd. Third-party tools are not officially supported by Square Enix, and you use them at your own discretion and risk. You're responsible for your own compliance with Square Enix's terms and with Discord's and XIVAuth's terms. Eikon does not automate gameplay or alter the game's combat or economy.

8. Eikon is provided "as is"

Eikon is early software offered on an as-is and as-available basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't promise the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or perfectly secure. You use it at your own risk.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Eikon and the people who make it are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, arising out of your use of the service or your interactions with other users. Some places don't allow these limits, in which case they apply to the extent the law allows.

10. You're responsible for your interactions

You are solely responsible for how you interact with other users. We don't vet users, and a verified badge confirms a character is real, not who is behind it. Trust your judgment, take it slow, and don't share anything you wouldn't want saved.

11. Ending your use

You can stop using Eikon at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account and data by emailing us. We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms or to protect the service or other people. The community rules, content responsibility, disclaimers, and liability limits continue to apply after your account ends.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms. When we do, we'll change the date at the top and post the new version here. If a change is significant, we'll try to let you know in the app. Continuing to use Eikon after a change means you accept it.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any disputes will be handled in courts located in the United States, except where the law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.
